We are Alan and Michelle. A fifty-something couple who have simplified their lives, exchanged working for living and things for experiences. We have hit the road in their vintage Mercedes motorhome for a long-term tour of Europe. When will it end? Only when we want it to. We have given up our house to live full-time in our motorhome. What can possibly go wrong?

We will be sharing our renovation, our preparation and our travels in the hope to inspire others to find their own adventure.

On a trip to the outskirts of Cambridge today we visited the American Military cemetery at Madingley. The only American WWII cemetery in the UK where 3,800 American soldiers, sailors and airmen are buried

Our final view of #francia🇫🇷 for this trip we were parked on a farm near Calais. A mini helicopter was wheeled out of the barn for a pleasure flight. Then today it was time to hop on the #eurotunnel and back to England. Usual English motorways aka short stay car parks. We are now back at the site where we will be working for the summer season. But first a 1 month trip back to Northern Ireland to catch up with family.

A twisting drive from Moissac through the midi Pyr

A twisting drive from Moissac through the midi Pyrenees brought us to the beautiful old town of Souillac on the banks of the Dordogne river.

Narrow streets of stone and timber buildings with wooden window shutters. There has been an Abbey here since Roman times and the church also dates back to the Roman era.

The old well pump still delivers water from the tap. A charming town that we will return to. #souillac #dordogne #france .

Now making the long trip home but we couldn't pass by the unmistakable skyline of #benidorm. I first came here in 1985 on my first ever holiday abroad. I next returned for a day trip in 2005 and took a picture of Michelle from the same spot on Balcón del Mediterraneo.
Back in 1985 there were 2 solitary hotels on the Poniente beach. Now it is amass with skyscrapers including 2 gold tile coveted towers with an upside down cone suspended between them at the top and another which resembles the Chrysler building.

Still great memories and who can beat a Bailey's coffee for €1.50 which comes as a cup of coffee and a separate glass of Bailey's (equivalent).

We have just spent a great 10 days on the Mar Meno

We have just spent a great 10 days on the Mar Menor coast with @nomadwayne and @felixagreensword . First bracing the strong cold winds then soaking up the sunshine.

We walked through the nature reserve to the beach and experienced a café Canario in a beach side bar ( condensed milk, coffee and steamed milk on top). And who can forget the daily alarm call at 8.30am when the Aguilas air display team thundered overhead from the military airport literally next door!

Today was a day of beautiful memories. 15 years ago today Michelle and I met for the first time. And as we prepared to leave our parking spot in Albaricoques, a UK registered motorhome pulled in which I recognised from the #coddiwomple sticker on the back.

I shouted over to @timandjangriffin whose journey we had been following all through Portugal and Spain.

Having promised each other for the past couple of months to try and get together this brief chance meeting was most welcome but all too short.
Many of the memories made on these journeys are through the fantastic people you get to meet on the road and hopefully we will get to spend a bit more time together sharing stories and a few drinks before we have to head back to the UK. xx
